Incredible Vintage 1960s Silk Dress Set L
This is one of the most incredible pieces I've ever found in the wild. It's the kind of garment that makes you say "wow, they really don't make clothes like they used to, huh." If I thought I would ever have an occasion to wear it I would try to get it tailored, but since I can't imagine a single scenario I'll let it free to hopefully see the light and admiration of day. I can imagine this being an awesome rehearsal dinner outfit, or maybe you just need a killer late-season Betty Draper costume.
Raw ivory silk A-line dress with matching Mandarin collar jacket. The dress is fully lined and extremely well tailored, and has a martingale with snaps at the side so you can move it out of the way while you zip the hidden zipper. The mock-neck has two hook-and-eye closures. The jacket is equally well tailored with darts at the shoulder and underarm, and has matching ornamental frogs with dangling tassels. Excellent vintage condition, with only three flaws I notice: a slight staining on the right interior of the jacket, a tiny scuff mark on the right shoulder of the jacket, and some loose stitching along the top of the zipper.
Tagged Jay Kobrin for Maisonette— I tried to look this up but couldn't find much information besides that Kobrin was a costume designer who expanded into consumer pieces. No size or material tag, but there is a union bug!
The dress is pinned on the mannequin, and it's too big for me; I'd guesstimate this at a modern 8 or 10?
Dress flat measurements: 19" bust, 15" waist, 21" hip, 37" total length

Everything in the second hand section comes from my own closet / home / adventures. I do my best to highlight any flaws or foibles, but I am fallible and may miss something. Also, please be aware that everything has been in a house with a dog and two cats, and while I do my absolute best to remove all fur... there might be a little fur.
